Services Provided by RN Guardian
Every RN Guardian “member” or “plan participant”
is entitled to the same services provided by RN Guardian and
its Panel Attorneys. These services include representation of
the Registered Nurse plan participant during the course of any
investigation by the Board of Registered Nursing (“BRN”)
into the plan participant, challenging BRN citations and fines
informally and formally, and zealously advocating for the RN
Guardian member in the BRN administrative hearing before an
Administrative Law Judge and before the full Board of Registered
Nursing. In legally viable cases, the services provided by RN
Guardian to its members also include seeking to overturn adverse
administrative decisions in the California Superior Court through
“administrative mandamus” proceedings. In addition,
RN Guardian members or plan participants always have access
to informal advice regarding any licensing matter through toll-free
telephone contact to RN Guardian.
Plan Contract
RN Guardian’s “Plan Contract” is the services
agreement which sets forth the obligations for both RN Guardian
and each Registered Nurse who joins RN Guardian to receive the
benefits under the pre-paid legal services plan for license
defense matters. As a condition to becoming a “member”
or “plan participant” of RN Guardian, each Registered
Nurse who wishes to join must first read, understand, and agree
to coverage under the Plan Contract.
The basic terms of the Plan Contract are:
- RN Guardian membership benefits apply to any RN with a valid, active license
from the California Board of Registered Nursing who has properly applied for
membership and who is current on payment of required contributions (either $7.95
per month or $ 95.40 per year).
- Membership benefits include advice from an experienced attorney during the
course of any investigation by the Board of Registered Nursing, representation
by the attorney in any BRN administrative hearing, assistance with settling a
matter with the BRN, and other advice and consultation related to issues
surrounding an RN's professional license.
- A Member must notify RN Guardian of a claim for benefits once the member is
informed that BRN is conducting an investigation into the Member in order to
receive representation by an attorney through his or her RN Guardian membership.
The Plan Contract can be downloaded, reviewed, and printed
by clicking here.
Review of and agreement to the Plan Contract must be indicated
on the form provided on the “Join” or “Join
Today” page of this web site before submission of payment
and the application for membership is considered complete.
